Help choose from 2 pairs
Lens: Sigma 10-20 f/3.5 Camera: K-7

Hi all, just need a quick opinion on these two pairs of images.

Basically looking at at 1 versus 2, or neither choice. Any other comments welcome however.

Cheers.

#1 in both cases.

The white truck stands out.

The hat rack stands out more with better overall balance, though I'd try to clone out the cluttered background.

And I like #1 in the first case. I agree about the white truck. I like the #2 of the second pair, I like the diagonal flow with the other room. Placing the hats to show like #1 in #2 would be optimal IMHO.

#1 and #2 respectively.
The more central location of the coathanger seems to fit more naturally in the frame and not leave unnecessary empty space as in #1.

#2 from the first batch (The white truck in #1 acts like an anchor to me and my eyes don't explore the image as much as in #2)

#1 in the second batch (I don't like how the coat rack stands in front of the tree shadow in #2 and I also find the patio doors in #2 to be a distraction)

#2 and #1 - I find the first city bypass one a bit too contrasty. The distortion of the car in the second gives a sense of motion, surprisingly without drawing my eye out of the frame. I like the glimpse of the chair in the next room in the first foyer version, it looks quite inviting, as opposed to the patio doors in the second, which just invite you to go back out! Also like the tree shadow better in the first, not sure why.

#1 for both pairs.

In the first one the higher contrast emphasises the "two levels" / "underground" facet of the image. The stretched car and low contrast in #2 don't do anything for me. Two cars seem to put too much weight in the lower part of the image.

When I first saw #1 in the second pair I thought "Hmmh, not a fan of subjects being so close to an edge and what would it look like a bit more in the centre? Probably background to the left would have been distracting." Then I saw the second version and then I understood what is great about #1. Not only are the shapes of the coat hanger and the shadow well seen, but the lines of the door also lead to them. No question for me that #1 is the winner.

#1 and #2.
#1 reminds me of the industrial scenes you see from the 30's. And the balance between white truck and white clouds.

#2 is well balanced. I can actually tell there is door. I feel more comfortable "in" the shot. And the two exteriors tie out and make the image more interesting.

Thanks for the very helpful responses. Think I'll leave them for a few days and come back with fresh eyes.
