Snail macro
Lens: 50mm M42 with extension tube Camera: KM Photo Location: Surrey ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F2 

Captured with trying out a cheap ebay 50mm lens and extension tubes

The DOF is shallow, but it looks quite sharp to me!

Yes, just a slightly larger f-stop would help bring the entire head into focus.

I also like just about everything about this shot other than the thin depth of field. f/2?!? You could have gone f/22 and got yourself an effective macro.
But well done. Keep at it.

I love the composition but agree about stopping down to focus the whole head.

cute snail subject too. i love the little guys

Thanks for the advice guys. I will stop down a bit next time to get a better DOF. What would you suggest...f8? or higher?

As I suggested above, the more the better in these extreme macros.
f/8 is good.
f/16 better.
f/22 better still.
f/32 - if you can put up with diffraction - is best.
