Where Festus/Otis Live....
Lens: 43 Ltd Camera: K20D Photo Location: Texas-My Yard ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/25s Aperture: F4.5

My first outside shot with my new 43 Ltd.......I'm already in love! I was trying to get the Sun's rays filtering through the trees, but I will take what I got?
Regards!

This is an old one from the F50 1.7...it is what I was trying to get this morning, but just couldn't quite make it...

I think that the second works much better than the second. The first is more like a generic sun photo, while the second is quite stunning with that warm light and the visible rays. The only thing that's distracting (for me) in the second are the OOF leaves in the upper-right.

They're both rendered well, but the warmer tone does appeal more to create a more inviting atmosphere. I'd consider a tighter crop to enlarge the sunburst (honing in on the subject) and eliminating some distracting peripheral matter.

Otis and Festus must be very happy there. Perhaps you could print out one of these to hang up on the wall in their home

I love the atmosphere and complexity of the second image - it is very inviting and your eyes can wander through the whole frame and find interesting content - really nice work.

Good advice Adam, and I agree, I have always liked the second one.....and admit that I mostly just wanted to post something with my new 43Ltd........Some of us get excited with a new lens every so often! LOL!

Ash, good thoughts, as always from you! I will try a crop. As for Otis/Festus, they "have the woods"...a photo for them would be nice, but they would only eat it!

LenWick, much appreciated.....thank you! It does have a dreamy look to it that I look out and see quite often this time of the year or in the early Spring. This is the view from my office windows at home. Yes, I am very lucky!

Rupert, first of all, congratulations on the 43! Wonderful lens, that. I suspect it is the one I use the most, myself.

And second, congratulations on the view from your office window, and thanks for sharing the magic light with us.

Somehow Rupert, I always thought you were already a limited shooter. Welcome to the club. The 43 was my first (in a long line of upper end LBA). Sold my first FA50 to pay for it and haven't looked back for a second. Be sure to test it out in your new studio with those fine looking models. I think you'll be quite pleased.

Congrats on the new addition.

Thanks Nesster/Jeff! I believe I am going to be in love with the 43 Ltd.....and thanks to the Forum Marketplace Member that sold it to me, he was terrific!

I am indeed fortunate to look out at the woods and all the Squirrels, and I know it!

Best Regards!
