Old Hen
Lens: SMC Pentax F-Zoom 28-80 Camera: K10d Photo Location: Niigata, Japan

2nd day with the camera, brought it to my school.

I tried out mono-hdr mode in Photoshop. Did my first attempts at dodging and burning also.

The composition is good. The upper part of the face (of the lady, not of the hen) is too dark, and her face appers too contrasty or over-processed in post processing.

thank you for the composition compliment (its most important to me as a photographer)sorry about the darker face... I figure it only is understood by people who are around Japanese... since they normally hid their faces and look down. It is difficult even to shoot them at all as they put their privacy as a big importance. As for the over postwork in the face I suppose I did go over the top... i wanted to stress the imperfections in her face to reflect her age.Is there a better way to do this? Perhaps sharpening her face?
