Exif in tact. I thought this a good shot for a lot of reasons but I'll let you all be the judge. Taken Halloween day during my River Walk.

I rather like this photo, Jeff, though I'm nowhere near an expert in critique. Even though the gull is in the center of the photo, which generally makes a photo dull for me, the critter's pose almost screams out "LOOK AT ME!" and so the composition emphasizes that. The rails and striped shadows on the right, and the bright sparkles at upper left balance the shot, and the colors are lovely.

Thank You, Tamia.. Neither am I. I just know what I like. Normally I would have cropped to move him left or right but would have lost the other elements of the photo that you speak of. I tried to get as close as I could to these critters but none would let me get within about 7 feet of them before taking off.

You might try cropping from the bottom to eliminate what is, for me, the distracting base near the center of the group of vertical bars at right.

How much of the bottom would you suggest losing? The image is shown Uncropped.

I'd crop from the left and the bottom. I wish there was a little bit more picture on the top/right to compensate a bit for that.
