This is a very well executed portrait.
Well framed, well set up in terms of background, lighting and camera settings.
What stands out most in this image is the very plain, unimaginative pose the subject has!
A more charismatic expression would have transformed this portrait dramatically.
The bold contrast from the lighting setup suits a lively pose but as it is it lacks impact.

Agree with Ash. Lighting is superb. Pose is...well, boring. You should have an idea what mood you are trying to convey before taking the shot. Talk it over with the model and explore the best way to achieve the result.

ok

1. wow that is harsh lighting- soften it up, what were you using for light, a torch? Would be nice if it had been lit better. Not liking the catch lights either, lighting from underneath the model never gives good results I find
2. silly pose, I don't dig it, also has lighting issues
3. unflattering, too much hair, she's not posed very well

the first one is the best, I even like the awkward pose- but I think it would be much better in context- like if he was a high school kid or something, set against a black studio background is boring

Real or not, I don't like the idea of anyone pointing a gun at my lens!
