Marbled Gecko
Lens: FA*200mm f/4 ED [IF] Macro Camera: Pentax K7 Photo Location: Adelaide Studio ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/180s Aperture: F16

A challenging macro subject to work with, hard to get these to sit still. I found him on my window eating bugs, I set up the studio and brought him in. He took a liking to climbing all over my softbox.

You nailed the focus and the exposure. I'm jealous!

for those who are interested this is the lighting set up I used. The softbox was used as a fill, I used the strobe with the snoot to bring definition to the texture of the lizards skin. The only thing that ticks me off is the reflection of the softbox in the gecko's left eye. And the softbox seems to be generating a warmer colour tone than the primary flash.

The gecko was on a plate of glass suspended over the main surface of a recurve table that had black velvet draped over it to absorb any stray light.

Well done with the result and thainks for sharing your lighting technique.
It needs little in the way of critique - my only issue being the focal point is very close to the border of the frame, but otherwise beautiful.
