There are many ways to skin a cat, so they say. All the ways mentioned are most likely valid, but it would be hard to beat that first shot in my opinion. The colors and saturation all work together to make it a "stand-out" kind of photo. If that is what you wanted, you got it! Nice work!

This looks great IMO. Yes, it is quite saturated, but it looks fantastic. My only quibble is the bit of sky to the left of her head is too bright (brighter than the shot where you metered for the sky).

I really like the finished results. Saturation of color may be a tad high considering the background and assumption that warm light may not exist naturally to illuminate her face. But if you had not said anything about the process in PP or the under exposed original shot, I would be left to conclude that you had some remarkable conditions to capture the image.

Final result for me is, she is the main subject. I like the deep colors and especially the warmth of the image. She is in the center of my attention. Isn't that the point of a portrait photo in the first place.

Nice work. Lovely subject.
