these are tricky subjects to work with out in the wild, and this proved to be an opportunity for my recently repaired Pentax FA*200mm f/4 ED macro to prove it's great worth. Some time ago my FA*200mm f/4 Macro developed a hairline crack in the tripod collar, which grew over time. I am unaware of exactly how it occurred because the lens was in my camera bag at the time, I happened to come across a sigma 180mm f/3.5 for a price I couldn't pass up. And I bought it as a replacement for the FA* macro lens for tripod work, but The sigma has since been made somewhat redundant since the FA* lens has been repaired.
