few shots
Camera: k200

so im relatively new to this forum. i registered awhile back and now ill try to be more active. im still pretty new using my camera, had it for roughly over a year now and thought id share a few photos for you guys to C&C

I took these photos awhile back so i cant remember the Sspeed aperture and iso

a few questions. i take my photos on the highest resolution, does it matter what res i use on my camera because i figure i can also crop them to make them smaller if i wanted to. (image quality wise will it effect my photos?).
when i brought my camera it came with a Katz eye, should i put it into my camera? and would it be necessary for a newcomer like me to have it in?

thanks

Nice shots. All well composed and exposed. However, the #5 b&w is superlative. Thanks for posting.

B & w

Try the Katz Eye. Only takes a couple of minutes to put it in or take it out.

May help with manual focus and other things depending on the model.

Hope you don't mind the quick crop. That was done to emphasis the curve in the road.

It would be helpful to give a Title to your photos so we can learn what you intended or interpret.

If you email a photo to yourself it will reduce the size if you want. Easy trick.

@Sparkle - I realize you like a flat photo. But what you did to that great monochrome should be an indictable offence. I prefer the original.

I actually rather like the crop as it removes some clutter from the foreground and somewhat balances out the blown out sky on the right, but the original is fine as well.

Besides some blown highlights, you've got some nice shots here.

I've never used a katzeye but if it's anything like an SLR's split prism, then it will really help out for manual focus. The only thing I'd watch out for is it messing up your spot meter accuracy. If you primarily use matrix metering or center weighted then I don't think it's a problem.

I've never shot below max resolution, and I think the only real reasons to do so are perhaps if you're running out of space on the memory card and need to keep shooting, or if you're limited in the buffer capacity when you want to shoot continuously. Both issues can probably be dealt with by buying a faster/bigger card.

i like the way you go down to the height of the animals - and i really like the horse shoot. But is it a bit over exposed?

Well, if a cropping cop finds me, I hope he is good looking and likes older women and a deftly applied riding crop. LOL
