I think this would have worked better if you had more than just the two burned out snags in the frame. And possibly brighten up the big snag to add some detail. Not a bad shot as is.

I think the composition has merit, but the big problem is the dark snag without detail in the front. Burnt wood is SO hard to shoot as it suck up all light! I would say this was shot about 10AM or 2PM, judging by the shadows. You may need to shoot earlier in the day or later to get a better angle of light. Even then, fill flash might be useful, depending on your distance from the first charred snag.
