Country Roads
Lens: Accura Diamatic Auto Wide Angle 35mm 1:2.8 Camera: Kx Photo Location: Vernonia, OR ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/90s Aperture: F8

Went for a hike in Vernonia... Rain finally drove us mad. Anyway - thoughts, comments, critiques please!

Especially looking for PP help. I can't tell if this needs less contrast...
Thanks -
Mike

Very nice. As "Queen of the Crop" my suggestion would be to take a bit off the bottom and more off the top so that the curved walk ends at the top left of the photo. Try it and see if you prefer the curve throughout the photo.

I would agree with sparkle on that.

Hmm.... I think to go with that crop, I'd have to have shot from either level or lower than the subjects. And I like the context given by the trees - it's kinda Oregon's claim to fame.
I like the idea, though. Certainly worth a look.
Thanks!

Very nice and clear shot, with good resolution on my screen and fine DR. I like it just like it is, the trees in the background make it evident a that an "adventure" is unfolding just around the curve. Anyhow, that is my perspective......as an old Squirrel shooter.....

The hanging tag.....it deserves some comment.....it does say something.....just what might depend on the viewer.
Best Regards!

Unfortunately there is significant softness and CA in the corners that does distract somewhat, and all the interest is in the curving walkway rather than the foliage above. The subjects are not the most interesting in their 'pose' but otherwise a decent rendition from an everyday MF lens.

Looks like another dreary winter day in the Pacific Northwest. It's been so soggy.

This looks like a snapshot, especially with the tag hanging off the woman's pack. There is nothing engaging about seeing the backs of people walking in front of the camera. When you include human forms in a photograph, most of the time it helps involvement with the viewer if you can include people's faces.

The technicals in this shot, including crops, are almost irrelevant.

The big problem is that if Mike's hikers were facing the camera the tag could not be seen!

Too much sharpness, as I see it on my screen... wouldn't crop, also.
I would warm up the image a bit, push color saturation on the trees, and do some dodging and burning to enhance the image. Hope it helps making a decent shot.
