Lens: tamron 70-300 mm Camera: pentax 20d ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/30s Aperture: F9.5

Was on a 3rd floor rooftop, all around me where fireworks. I was taking a pic of one that was very far from me. Could I have adjusted something to avoid the smoke all around which gave a haze effect on my pic

There is little you can do about the haze, but there is something you can do to improve contrast and clarity in PP. Firstly, balance the colours - there is too much yellow in these scenes - a more natural white balance alone would improve the look of this image greatly. Crop out the unnecessary negative space in #2. Decrease exposure and brightness, whilst increasing contrast - you may get better definition of the fireworks itself.

There's an improvement there fore sure in the overall look of the images, and you can use colour balance to shift the yellows towards the blue a little and then boost some more contrast to get an even more defined result, whilst rendering the background elements more naturally.
