People Toes in the Water

I am going through a bunch of photos lately on my days off from work. I love this site for the great feedback I've gotten on other pictures. This is a picture of our daughter, it was February and overcast- the original was color and I rendered in B&W.

Hi Ryan:

This is obviously a keeper, but I think it may benefit from upping the contrast, and also cropping off the bottom to just above the lump of sand in the middle.

Ryan, there are instances where centrally arranging the subject in a frame is indicated, breaking the fundamental rule of thirds in composition. In this image though, it doesn't quite work well. Nevertheless the B&W conversion is well done - I agree the contrast could be increased further and cropping would certainly help improve the impact of the image - she is a little too small in the frame.

As the old adage says - if your pictures aren't good enough, you're not close enough.
