Wedding photos, looking for CC
Lens: DA* 16-50 Camera: Pentax K5 Photo Location: Northern New Mexico

this one is 1600 ISO F2.8 and at 31mm. The room was very dark except for a small window that lit up the back wall and I was backed up to a wall, but only 16" to 20" from the bride. I will post the color version as well.
1.

2. ISO 1600 F2.8 1/15

#1 and #3 are great. Nice expressions. Gives a feeling of depth. Not thrilled with #2, however.

I feel the same way about the second one. I did end up posting it for them on the online gallery, but did not include it in the album I am giving them. This was my third wedding and I was just really trying to slow down and compose...Hopefully I will be able to be a second photographer for a real pro wedding photographer this summer and learn some more consistent techniques.

#1 I think this looks fine the way it is. Maybe you could improve it by doing some dodging on the bride's face and upper chest so it brings her out from the background even more. Right now her face is a little dark in relation to the other parts of the foreground, such as her teeth and the necklace, and with the black and white tones being the same foreground and background she visually looks like she's drifting back into the background when you want her to stand out.

#2 I think could be fine, but the darkness at the top of the frame bothers me. Is that in the original? If you added the vignette, I think it would look better if you restricted the dark parts to the upper corners

#3 Is probably my favorite of this series composition wise, but I must confess that I enjoy the documentary style the most and this is the closest you have to that. You could probably stand to crop whatever that is on the ceiling at the very top out of the picture, and also brighten the bride's face to accentuate her expression, which is really the focus of the photo. Also if you crop you could try bringing it in a smidge on the left side and see if you like the look of that.

#1 is a definite keeper. Well orchestrated. #2 does suffer somewhat with unbalanced lighting. #3 is also decent, it's the emotions encapsulated that make the shot work. The above comments apply.

Very nice shots..# 1 is my favorite. ISO 1600 and that lens does well on that camera.

When I first bought the 16-50 DA* I thought it was complete junk, but that was with the K10d. With the K5 it really is something else and focus is spot on. Ironically though, my Sigma 50mm 1.4 HSM was magic on the K10D and had FF issues on the K5 and even after adjusting, I can't say this lense is awesome as I thought it once was. Especially considering what I am getting with the 16-50 now....
