Baby Girl's Eyes
Lens: Kit 18-55 Camera: K-X ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/45s Aperture: F8 

As per my picture info on the camera shutter speed was 1/40...

I'm still quite a newbie here, but I'll try and give a couple of suggestions and bump you to the top and hopefully you'll get more responses.

With the color image, it looks like the flash kind of washed out the colors and contrast some. Maybe you could try and diffuse the light some so it won't be so harsh. Also, you might want to try recropping or a different framing where you can use the rule of thirds and have her eyes lined up on the top third line.

I do like how you really tried to bring out her beautiful blue eyes in the black and white photo. You may even want to try with the color photo to select the irises and play around with the sharpness, contrast, and saturation to see if you can get those baby blues to pop even more.

You've got a beautiful little girl here. I'm sure you're going to get a lot of great portraits with her.
