Overall a pleasing shot. Your model certainly helps make it so

I like the crop. It shows the hands. Without them it would look weird I think. As for the eyes, I do see some detail left in the shadow, maybe it's worth trying to bring it out in PP.

Hey man, thanks! Yeah, I'm still fiddling with this photo, but I'd like to also take some new shots -- this time with a proper lighting setup. Whether or not I can get the same model to sit for me is another story...

What does she think of her portrait?
You should have her sit again with good lighting. You could do a couple low, mid, high key shots.
I wouldn't worry about your model. Human Females can't help it. You make them look pretty and they'll sit!

Edit: you get it right and you may be Called upon for a Boudoirs session!

Ah, thanks!
If you are photographing a small child, say a toddler that can't sit still, just plan on even faster shutter speed for more success. I generally go for a 1/125 or faster when trying to capture my 22 month old boy...

Well, slightly embarrassed, especially with the pose. I guess she kind of 'took one for the team,' in this case.

You know what chicks like? The f/8 + flash gun "anatomy of the iris from 5 feet away" shot.
