Sunsets
Lens: Various Camera: K20D Photo Location: Victoria, Australia

I've been taking some pics of sunsets lately being blessed with living close to the coast. Got mixed response and was wondering if people can make some comments/ suggestions here.

Ricketts Point, Melbourne (taken with Leica 35/1.4)

(taken with Pentax 12-24mm)

(taken with ??)

1 and 3 are my favorites. You might want to try cropping in from the right of 4, perhaps to just left of the small vertical object.

wow, these are great, I really like the 3rd one even with the barrel distortion... it really works with this shot! And the first is excellent.

I cannot find anything to constructively criticize... they are all terrific.

Well done Daniel, you've used your DA 12-24 and K20D to good effect.
THanks for sharing these.
As for critique, the crop of the last one's OK, and it could do with a touch of levels adjusting to boost some of the colours and contrast; same with #1, but #3 is beautifully rendered - reflection is icing on the cake.

1 and 3 are also my favorites. Sunsets are not as easy to photograph as people think and you did a fine job.

WOW, I think these are superb!

I'd love to have all but the first on the wall. Very nice sunset but I find the silhouette distracting. In fact I rarely like a one dimensional silhouette, is this a real person or a cardboard cutout and what is he doing on MY beach bocking the view! No dude and a wider angle perhaps?

On the nit picky side there is a bright spot on the horizon about 45* from the right pelican that I think needs to go. Same with the black cloud shoot below the pelicans.

Thank you so much for the images! I'd love to know the details

They are all excellent. You have done great. Thanks for sharing. We no longer get a lot of great sunsets here in the Phoenix area due to the heat island keeping the clouds away. So I envy you.

Thank you guys. I have edited the Pelicans already to tone down the bright reflections on the water and will try to work on the sky as well (thanks for the suggestion).

The sunsets were all taken at Melbourne suburban beaches, mostly Ricketts Point which has nice rock-pools you can see in the 3rd image.

Here's a couple more (fist taken at Inverlock, Victoria and the second is back at Ricketts Point)
