Sober Thoughts
Lens: Pentax-M 50/1.7 Camera: K-x ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1s Aperture: F11

This is a self portrait. I wanted to covey my recent feelings - those of uncertain future and worry.

Simple setup. Beauty dish at 1 o'clock (in relation to my face). Slights crop and a heavy black compression in LR3.

Good shot, well lit. I think it would have better expressed the thoughts you were intending if the look was downward rather than upward. Your facial expression is great, but the upward look adds too much hopeful to me. Just for fun take the shop and re-crop it and see what happens.

Actually to me, you look a little pi$$ed. Of course, I don't know you out of these forums so the expression may be a normal one. People tell me I'm looking PO'd too at times but in my case, they're usually right

Still a great effort though.

Nice shot, well done and conveys the message you presented. You didn't ask, but I have a Big Mouth, which is well documented.......

The future is not uncertain at all, we die....what's uncertain about that? The best response to a losing proposition is in Today....yesterday is too late...tomorrow may not come, but Today is perfect, if you let it be. Today is always my favorite day!
Best Regards!

Technically speaking it's a great shot, but IMHO to convey the emotions you were after, perhaps try angling your face a bit (so it's not perpendicular to the camera) and, as above, looking a little lower. Perhaps something with hands on your chin or something, too.

If the title isn't given/objective for a mood isn't stated, it's a more or less flawless shot (to my non-expert eyes).

A good one as others have said.
Works as a mono profile with dramatic lighting.
Experiment more with different gazes/expressions.
