You have some great shots there on flickr. This doesnt seem like you.
My suggestion is to look at your natural light shots, which are awesome, and then look into flashes as ...well, a way to substitute those natural lights when they arent available.
In terms of these pictures, i think the problem isnt the lighting; the subject matter just isnt taken from an interesting angle, the foreground and background elements are uninteresting and distracting, and so on and so forth.
Basically, just because you took your shots indoor and replace natural light with flashes you shouldnt lose the great composition/angles/etc that you had for natural lights outdoor. That standing pelican shot is something else. Now substitute the pelican with a person, and substitute the sun with a flash
