This image also looks very soft, lacking clarity and adequate sharpness.
Consider shooting at f/8 with the kit lenses. At f/4, you shouldn't expect sharp results, especially at infinity focus distances.

Agreed. Could've easily been 200 ISO, 1/250, f/8.

Also not a fan of the border, and the watermark is quite large and obtrusive. But that's your personal choice, I suppose.

+1 on the watermark
Also wouldn't it be better to shoot NY at night? or where light is more interesting? (i.e. dusk)

To a non-American there are no buildings here that one recognizes as quintessentially "New York." It could be anywhere and the photo has nothing that declares itself to me in that regard. This type of shot has been done to death and needs to be absolutely spectacular in sharpness, colour, contrast, composition etc. to really stand out.
Don't be discouraged, but do work on the advice others have given and your work will improve. May I suggest you visit some of the excellent galleries in your marvellous city and get a feel for what can be done with this kind of subject.
Keep on!
+2 on the watermark.

I like the corner work. The image is perfectly level. Colours are nice.

The watermark is too intrusive for me, and I agree that it's slightly soft.

Misleading title, actually. A more appropriate title would've been "Cityscape of Jersey City, New Jersey," which sits directly across the Hudson River from lower Manhattan, NYC. Indeed the photo is taken from NY, but it's not a picture of NY... which is what I think you meant to suggest anyway.

Apart from that, speaking purely as an novice, I like the photo. Sort of has an vintage postcard feel to it.

Dear Jorge Nunez.
1. Please lose the frame.
2. Please lose the ugly watermark. I am almost 100% certain that no one will be using your image, with or without your permission. On a work of this calibre, the watermark simply puts the nail in the coffin.
