Welcome to Pentax!
These are three delightful photographs. My favorites, in order, are 1, 3 and 2.
In the third photo, I'd like to see a version in which the left side of the frame (thus, the right side of the model's face) is a bit darker.
Bravo!

Thank you for your comments, I was concerned that the third one was too dark on the right. So I had attempted to lighten the shadow area. I am only using jpeg and iphoto at the moment, but presume aperture and raw would allow me the control you mention.

If you don't want to invest in Aperture, you might explore other options.
Among them are products from Nik Software, which can be used with jpeg, not just with RAW.
You might find working with Nik software products to be less complicated than some other choices.

Thank you for the information, I shall look into it; aperture bought via the apps store is a fraction of the normal price, so is still a possibility.

I should clarify that Nik's products are plug-ins. I plug into Photoshop Elements. Nik products also can plug into Photoshop, Aperture and Lightroom. Please check Nik's website for details about specific products and options.
