Its nice photo but it lacks the impact of sharpness for this type of shot. The point of focus, the flies are too high up the composition also.

Experiment with cropping and if in doubt the rule of thirds is a fail safe way to compose your images.

I don't have a problem with the flies' position, but I agree that sharper focus is desirable.
I hope you continue to post photos.

Thanks for the comments. I'm fairly happy with the composition of it. The flies, to me, are more of an accent than the point of focus, which should be the seeds on the stalk. I like how the arc of the stalk follows the contour of colour in the bokeh.

You're both right about focus, it's a bit soft. It looked pretty good on the camera screen, but I should have taken a few more to be sure.
