The heavy bag photo was taken with just the flourescent lights in my basement (where my basement gym is) and a 100 watt bulb off to camera left at 1/350. The other was taken with a single off camera flash through an umbrella at 1/125, both were at f/2.0. Both photos finished in CS4, along with OnOne PhotoTools Professional and Alien Skin Exposure 3. Rebecca, the model, is 41 and a 3rd degree black belt. I train at her and her husband's dojo.

Great shot's a real photo journalistic feel to them. A very nice kick also, trained in Wado Ryu style karate myself.

Hi:

Thanx so much. I will post more of Rebecca this weekend. I have another shoot with her later in October and hope to get more images with a martial arts theme.

Even i hate noisy pics, with b/w or tinted like this one works great, adds some drama tho the photo. Great effect.
