1. First use of a ND filter. Kind of has this HDR look to it but its not. Too much exposure?
2. Slightly darkened
3. Slightly lightened in spots. In between 1 and 2

What do you think?

#2 is the best treatment. You can go darker still -- you're nowhere near the point of losing significant shadow detail. Does look slightly overexposed.

Too much foreground for my taste. I'd crop the bottom 10-15%.

Yes, I agree. #2 is the best shot. And it looks better with some of the dead space in the foreground cropped off - up to just below the first horizontal line.

Thanks guys. This was my first real use of an ND filter so figuring out what the settings should be is taking some practice.

What ND is it 2, 4, 8? If that is a 2, I would throw a CPL on it and keep the same shutter speed to compensate for the exposure. If it is a 4, yes...notch it down just a bit.
