Great expression on the face there, shot looks a tad flat though.

Interesting photo. You might consider:
• Cropping a bit from the right to eliminate most of the boots of the guy in that background and thus make him less distracting
• Cloning out that distracting, curving line that's over the beggar's shoulder.
I don't know what processing software you own, but increasing the contrast (reducing the flatness) should be easily done. I suggest consulting the "Help" screen of your software.

Well, if you crop off the right side as suggested, I'd take some off the top as well to center the subject a little more. I would like to have seen the ground under the person. He seems a little forced into the corner as it is.

I like the eye contact, so I would choose the first (cropped) over the other one. And it is much better cropped.
