Street scene at night in China
Lens: 18-55 Camera: k-r Photo Location: http://www.flickr.com/photos/69282256@N05/6302064371/ ISO: 3200 Shutter Speed: 1/45s Aperture: F5.6

This is my first acceptable shot from my new k-r, taken about 9 hours after I bought it, and shortly before my first set of AA batteries became depleted. I haven't used iso3200 before, and was surprised at the quality. I have done some sharpening on the shot.

Feel free to savage it.

Attempt 2:

Ooops!

Apologies for omitting the photo, maybe I was brain-dead from read the 355 page k-r manual!

Attempt 3:

Ok. ok, it took me a while but I hope I have worked it out now:

doesn't really work.
My eye just keeps wandering around the picture and looks for something to look at. There is no one strong subject. The bike baby seat grabs too much attention and doesn't add anything to the shot. The tired walker has no context to go with and the shop keepers on the stools are just too dark to really be interesting. Sorry but it just doesn't work at all for me...
