I think I may have pushed this lens to its limit. One of my sons is part of school dance group, this is the only shot that works.
I have the non OS ver of lens. I think lens is good. I think I can do better, at 6400 I think this is not so bad, color umm no? Although this shot kinda works for me?
any tips

I don't know about the lens, but you certainly pushed the sensor to its limit. This is when you would really need a faster prime lens and lower ISO. A 135mm f2.5 of f2.8 would have given you a much higher success rate with your other takes.

I have 28-70 2.8, does not not have reach I am after. I am looking at sigma 70-200 hsm or tammy same length, both are 2.8 and have the reach, I know I can use the tamron on my mz 5s, not sure about the sigma though? I have been trying to dodge HSM lenses, screw is slower however if one is shooting in manual? We did it prior to digital should there be any difference now?. I tend to focus and shoot manual.
120-400mm 6400 @5.6 1/30 could I have got this on film?
