The technique used to photograph the candle is quite good, and I think the composition is fine also. However, you can see some noise here and there, and it would be nice to see more besides just the candle (i.e. brighten the base and the background, or add something to make this a still-life). As it is right now, this photo would be great for a chemistry textbook

Adam, thanks for the attention and comments. Photography is actually created when testing tripod. On the original subject is visible plate and a little background, which does not complement the composition. As I already wrote I'm not a photographer that "beautifies" photos and the "Add" different decorations. I have to look to an external disk script and submit it by post.

Hi,
As I promised to Adam, attach "an approximate version of the original." Dear friends, try to "get" it and the maximum version!
regards

Xove, thanks to for attention.
Precisely because of the strong noise by K10 D creates the higher ISO, I decided to up the proposed version.

ISO 1600?? mmm if the object is not moving allways try the lowest ISO to get sharper photos and w/o noise. Use a tripod if low ISO demands more exposition time and 2 seconds shutter to avoid camera shakes.

But I want to know how do you keep background black? is it a post process or was part of the ambience? Looks great, and despite the high ISO is not so grainy. Well done.

Antoher tip play a little bit with the subject position move it to the corners (rule of thirds) and compare it with a center arrange. Sometimes (almost allways) is better to avoid center.

Hi,
thing is very simple. Shot is RAW. In Bridge, I played a bit with Sharpening (100%) Noice Reduction, all settings to 100%! Other PP in Ps5!
I attach the "original shot" before further processing in Ps!
