I can't decide if that out of focus rock in the front is overly distracting from this image. What do you think? Other than that, I quite like the photo. Even though it was taken in Maui, I imagine it could have been taken in 1950's Sicily.

Any other feedback would be welcome.

first to me it doesn´t look like like a 50´s silcilian shot. It screams too much digital, it is too clean.
I first looked at the shot before I read your lines. And the out of focus rock had not drawn my attention yet. But I don´t think you could have done it any other way, I think the rock would have been a bit too heavy to lift.
But overal it doesn´t work for me, like I said it is too clean. I feel that this shot would benefit if grain would be added, and if it would be more contrasty, bit more whites and blacks, less gray.

Nicely done. The front rock does not bother me at all. If you find it distracting, you can move it to a corner, like this:

I do not like the OOF rock at the front. Otherwise quite a nice shot.
