Sand figure

After a storm had projected sand onto a concrete wall... but was it worth making a picture of?

For me... I cant see a pic in it ! Looking at it... it could poss work in black and white with contrast whacked up to poss create an abstract pattern.

I think it was worthwhile. It resembles a face, and I wonder what it might have looked like from other angles.

I have to agree, I think in black and white it will work. Now I do not really like it

Thank you for your comments. When I took the picture, I had more the pattern in mind than the texture, which could not be made appealing because the light was dull on that day. Anyway here is a B&W version. Sandpaper anyone?

It would be nice if you could elaborate because I do not quite understand what you mean. In some cases, photography is just a mean to convey an image. Either you like the image or you don't.

I haven't posted on PF for quite some time for reasons that I'm not going to drag up but When I see this picture and read some of the comments I feel the need to add my humble opinion.
What many folks don't realize is that there is a big difference between the qualities of artisically good photography and technically good photography. In a perfect world the two will be present in the image but his doesn't happen as often as we'd hope.
As an example none of the pictures that I have had accepted to galleries or shows or even show winners have ever been accepted by Pentax Photo Gallery and the converse of this is also true . Those technically good pics that PPG accepted were poorly recieved in the art community.
I like the direction you took with this shot. It's not great but your eye was working! If it was mine , I'd crop the top til it was square , leave it in color and turn up the contrast as others have recomended. If you had shot at sundown to add some gold color to the sand and possibly put a small leaf or sea shell in the pic to add some color contrst it would be better.
You may want to check out this website link JoAnn Sieburg-Baker .Click on the thumbs to open the galleries ,the Coastal Landcapes and American Landscapes galleries might give you some idea what I mean when I say I like where you were heading with this pic.
