on the runway

this was taken at the graduation of a local modeling school program. the kids were so animated and intense.

i like the movement and the smile of this model...obviously handheld, havent had a chance to get into pp.

This shot has very nice movement. Was this intended as a panning shot? If so, I wonder if a different angle would have worked better. What I mean by that the success of a panning shot is largely depend on the background. The people and the curtains in the background work, but due to large wall with no features, the panning element is lost in the section of the shot. Also, the model seems a bit soft.
