I like the shot, but something is just nagging at me. At the very least, regarding comp, I would crop it down a bit. Perhaps flip the shot on the vertical so you get a bit of a leading line off the longer branch. If you crop it at aspect to where the branch is just in the lower left corner it would work nice. As far focus goes it just slightly OOF, and does not give me the crisp lines my eyes want to see. All in all, a pretty nice shot, and a great first post.

Thanks tkj!! tried ur suggestion. It was shot handheld thats why the lines are not crisp enough.

Have you thought about Cropping it Sqaure?

Thanks, I wanted to keep that black space all along the periphery. So didnt try cropping that out, as would have been in a square.
Will give it a try though

Do you think you could bring out some orange tones in the embers? It looks rather red to me,
compared to my faint recollection of campfires and such.
