I happened across this pic I took several years ago (my pre DSLR era) to use as my wallpaper, I took it of my candle holder in the dark using my old Fuji Finepix 4.1mp (yup a point and shoot) and it decided everything including the flash itself, I don't recall having a clue how to change options on it if thats even possible. I dinked with it a bit in a REALLY old version of photoshop elements which I have since lost mainly to crop it to desktop format, and must have found a color and contrast slider because at one point I had it colored up like the incredible hulk, otherwise that's basically how it came out in the original pic though I think I made it slightly darker to take a few shadows out of the background and dim the flash reflection.
My main question is what caused the slightly offset red colors around the face, I assume it was the long exposure with flickering candle light hitting there but it made it almost look out of focus there, how can I retake this with a K20d and either an SMC-A 50mm1.4 or a SMC-A 35-105 (probably in macro setting) and get it to come out clearer where the candle light was. I liked how the flash lit only the sandstone buddha so it made it appear to float in nothing with a bowl of lava.
