Confusing title but good concept for a portrait. The mismatched clothing/personality with the setting leaves the viewer wondering what the hidden meaning of the portrait is.

She appears rather stressed -- is this intentional?

As the title says, the author wanted to emphasize the variety of colors on the model. It was quite successful. The composition does not happen is one or the portrait concept. There are too many distracting elements of the face model, which is frankly too "tuned"!

She doesn't have any toes on her left foot!

Also, something is wonky with the perspective. If you're going to have strong vertical elements in the frame, it helps to keep them vertical, either by shooting straight-on or fixing in post.

Finally, the brightest element in the frame draws attention. At first glance, this is a photo of a lampshade.

The puppies and rainbows and unicorns section is down the hall.

They've all been constructive suggestions to improve a future shot. It was posted here for critique...

LOL. I'm usually the "tough" crowd, but I don't mind going down the hall a bit. Puppies/Rainbows/Unicorns sounds like fun!

I'd say about two steps back, one step to the right, and take a knee to make the portrait a little more dramatic; remove the lamp and possibly tuck the curtain out of the way.

It's interesting that shots of women seem to get the most "robust" responses. I guess they bring out the passion of the photographers, whereas my sunsets are like "meh".

Maybe sunsets with women in them are the way to go?

PS For me, there are definitely things working with this shot especially the colours and the composition (except for the missing toe). Not to say the criticism above isn't valid, but not to crush any creativity either...

Just a better frame/crop would help. Crop the top down to only include a small portion of the painting, and you could lose the lamp and the blue thing on the right. If you had framed it downward, you could also keep in her left toes and make the many anti-toe choppers happy. A higher angle may have lost the picture and lamp completely.
