But this could likely be fixed by cropping tight to the side of the head, to make the photo into a portrait orientation. Until you mentioned this rule, I didn't even notice the background. I'm drawn to the child's eyes, and I want to know what it is that has his attention. Like I said before, a great story photo - there is so much more going on in the scene than can be seen in the photo itself.
