Crabapple Blossoms
Lens: SMC-A 50MM Camera: K10D Photo Location: INSIDE MY HOUSE

I decided to snip a branch off of the Crabapple tree on my property, set up a black background, and shoot away.

The black background certainly dispenses with the distracting elements you often see when someone has shot flowers outdoors with too much depth of field.
Somehow the light seems a bit harsh to me; it kind of contrasts with the delicate flowers which might be better suited to a softer light...?
Right in the centre, you have leaves & a twig. I wonder how it might have worked if you had turned the branch around & shot facing the cluster of flowers on the right side.
As a filmie I'm not familiar with white balance settings & it might be my monitor too, but somehow the white seems a wee bit... not quite bluish or greenish, but... "cold", maybe. I might be inclined to tweak the colours a bit to make it appear a bit warmer light.

Hi

Well observed, you have a good eye for it, and your monitor seems to be spot on.
I tweaked the colours within the limitations of the JPG format and by default it changed the background also.
This is only meant as a guide to the OP because having another image to compare helps with these sort of corrections.
Greetings
