Picture of musician
Lens: Pentax FA 50 1,4 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Russia, Moscow ISO: 80 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F2

Hi all! Need advice. If I could re-shot this photo, what should I do better or in different way?

Either out further or closer in. Try not to cut him off at the knees. Maybe try to get his whole sleeve. Take a little bit out, and crop in to change the composition.

I suppose my suggestions depend a bit on what kind of story I want to tell. Is this a picture about THIS musician? Then maybe crop the light knee out of frame, since the viewer's eye tends to be drawn to light. Personally, I wouldn't desaturate the image, either. Photographically, might want to try other angles to avoid those bright line segments in the background. While they line up with his face nicely, the brightness is a bit distracting.
Is the picture about folk musicians in general - pull back a bit and show more of the instrument.
But that's just my opinion.

That is a great pic. I do want to see the left elbow and the rest of the instrument if it is not too big.

Hello
Nice candid image. I would clone out the sky showing through the logs in the background as they are bright and draw the eye away from the subject. The knee is a light tone and also draws the eye. Cropping would work but change the framing, another option change the colour or burn it down in tone. A very light touch of fill flash would help with the detail, in the face particularly. Post work could dodge the head/face a little to reveal more detail and draw the eye. Another option is to turn it to monochrome or split tone if you want it to have an old or vintage look.
Regards
Greg

Crop down from the top and perhaps also up from the bottom.
