This is IMHO my best photograph with the kit lens that came with my K-x. I've been using it as that's all I have for a wide angle lens for my K5 until I can get another lens. We were at the Taste of Dallas this past weekend and after walking around all afternoon I had to take a break. When I turned I had this scene before me. I need honest opinions and criticism from you all. What could I have done to make this a better photograph.

Hi
The verticals on the building on the left are a bit out of whack due to perspective of lens distortion. The other thing i would consider in this situation is a polarising filter to boost contrast especially in the sky. Otherwise a fine depiction of the scene.

Been there many times....I'd say you captured the "essence" of the place quite well.....

Been there as a kid more times than I can count...seen countless photos of that scene in my life.....not a one of them better than yours, and most no where near as good.
BTW it looks almost exactly like it did in the 50's when I used to go ice skating there on Saturdays....until me and my buddy got kicked out for not following the rules. I've changed a lot since then.....NOT!

Best Regards, Thanks for the shot!, nice memories!
Rupert
