I'm new here. And have never asked for critiques on a photo site. So, I figured I'd post a few shots to see how I'm doing.

My thing is photographing abandonments, so, here's a few.






















These are all fairly recent using my K-r

Again, I'm new here. So I don't know if I'm making any mistakes, so, anyways.

Just my 2 cents, but I'd turn down the color saturation. Here's one I did in lightroom, pulling out most of the yellows and greens, leaving the reds, and turning saturation down as well. Hope you don't mind me messing with your pic, if you do, tell me and I'll pull it down.

Of course, you could just buy a Helios 44-2, and the pics will come out less saturated to begin with!

And for this one, I nuked the bright red for the garbage in the back, turned down green just a bit, and yellow a bit more, and turned down overall saturation.

I would slightly increase rust red saturation and maybe try to use selective focus on some photos, that look a little too busy for me. But overall an interesting series.

Allow me to make a personal observation (the stress is on personal) busy photographs ought to stay busy, most likely it was the reason it caught your eye in the first place. Derelict sites often are like this and therein lies the attraction. But these type of images often only work in full size, reduced size pictures can't show enough detail.

You are right. I personally prefer photos with a more.. minimalistic content, so I may not be a good judge for this type of photos.
