what type of plant I am not aware of, but its grace full ness is the main reason for taking the photo

I don't know about the "lovely hand" part, but it is a nice photo, and there is a certain satisfaction to the gentle curve of the tassle. Nice capture - and I like the toning.

Yes, it's a nice curve shape. And the colour is ok.
I do think your background detracts from it. You want to show off the tassel but the trees in the background are a bit too in-focus, and the tree line is right in line with the tassel which makes it blend a bit too much into the background. It also divides your background into light & dark. A higher angle would give you an all-dark background, against which the light tassel would show up better, and a wider aperture would throw it more out of focus so you just had a nice mottling rather than more distinct shapes. Also, a telephoto lens with wide aperture, focused on the tassel, would help separate it from the background too.
