Daughter and Granddaughter
Lens: DA 18-250mm Camera: K200D Photo Location: Springfield, MO ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/30s Aperture: F4.5

I took this photo of my daughter and granddaughter at my daughter's home in Springfield Missouri. It was after a month long separation between the two. You can sure tell they're happy to see each other. I used Photoshop elements 6.0 to resize for upload. This photo almost stopped me from buying my new K-30 it looked so good to me. The old K200 is still a decent camera. Any constructive criticism will be appreciated.

looks a little bit underexposed... well, maybe not underexposed, but definitely flat. looks like it was an overcast day and/or they are under cover... i think adding a bit more punch/raising the whites might help out (don't go overboard though!)

None needed - it does exactly what it was supposed to do...capture a moment in family time.

Thanks imaspy. I will play around with it a little in lightroom.
I just did a direct re-size in elements to send a copy to my daughter.
It is a little flat it was an overcast day on her back porch.
I guess the main thing I was surprised by was the smiles.

A nice snapshot that will please family members. I might make the following changes. Correct the distortion of the background, crop it in a bit and bump up the contrast and sharpness as it's soft and a little flat. Did a quick edit to show what I mean and posted it here. My attempt at fix in lightroom

I tried to make a sharpening and punch-up in lightroom 4.0 which I got for Christmas. There's definitely a learning curve to using lightroom.
