Birds sometimes need a bit sharpening, i am OK with that.

Swings and roundabouts but you're right at the edge between natural and hm. On some it's a bit unnatural, especially the undersides of wings where you know there shouldn't be light. On some it looks superb.

I think you have this reversed. Sharpening for printed output should be this side of crispy. It will look ungood when viewed on a monitor. Output sharpening for web display is gentler. The more one upsizes, the more intensely and frequently sharpening has to happen.

Re: the OP's excellent eagle shot, it is a tad over sharpened. I'd lower the radius a bit. Also too much highlighting under the wings. Happens to me all the time with those birds in northwest light.
