Crappy, heavy overcast skies.

I like them both Gary, but more so the pigeons. If it were me, I'd probably try removing that branch behind the House Sparrow. I really like the general mood of it, the light is actually very nice (tx to the overcast day), there's a nice quality to the colors and mood. Composition is good in both cases. Though the noise is visible it does not detract IMO and perhaps even contribute to the generall mood of the images. Good work.

p.s. your watermark signature is very tasteful ;-)
