A picture I would have been proud to capture, if I was the photographer. Love the sharpness of the image, the framing, the deep red of the beak and the red tuft.

If I'm being ultra-picky, I'd wish that the blue, purple and white part of the feather (assuming that part of the image is part of the bird, and not a continuation of the pot the bird's standing in - could be that too) was a little more in focus or not there altogether as it distracts the eye a bit, but like I say, this is nit-picking a very good, sharp image that I'd genuinely say I liked.

Good stuff for max focal length. I have both Sigma 170-500 and Sigma 50-500 HSM OS lens, but the 170-500 matches the 50-500 in quality.
The only advantage of the 50-500 is the HSM and the OS to a lesser degree.
