Wind Turbines Critique, Please

Please give me your comments on subject, composition, PP, and just your general impressions. These two, I think, were the best of about a dozen shots. Thanks.

2nd... meh :P

1st is good, just do a little retouch in the bottom right of the photo to bring out the really dark areas and also the road a little too to bring out some details too, cause the road does look good

i like them. The second one coupld be improved compositionally. it could work really well as a silhouette, but in order to be a strong one, it needs to be free from distractions.

Peter, is this better in your opinion than the original?

Jeff, the reality of the situation prevented me from getting just the windmills in silhouette. The best I could make of it was sort of a commentary on the old school surface mining operation in contrast with the high-tech eco-friendly wind turbines. Sometimes you must play the cards you're dealt and hope it works. Agree, it would have looked cool with just the turbines. Thanks for your comments.

I like this one..

I really like the first one... It has a very onminous look about it.. almost... war of the worlds-ish..

I like what you did with the second post of it... good job!

I like the second version of the 1st image. Nice shot. I like the idea behind the second shot but it somehow doesn't quite convey that statement or impact enough. If moving around wasn't much of an option then it's hard to suggest much more but I would have liked to see some separation between the 2. Shift to the right and not have the blades 'touch' the old mill workings. Maybe a bit more underexposure as well. There's still some detail left in the windmills and I find I'm hunting to see what's hidden in the dark structures.

yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup :P

see how much nicer everything jumps at you now?

next time, not saying the photo isn't good, cause it is i like it, but try getting more road .... i find it gives a bit of story when you add road to an image like that ... keeps the eye moving
