The framing of this shot is well done and really complements the model's expression and look. I like the color toning as well and how her lip gymnastics emphasizes the desaturated red.
My only serious criticism is that the shadowing makes the left side of the end of her nose look strange, like she has an injury or defect there. I would think some careful post can fix that.
After you are done, do consider submitting this to the PEG.

I like everything about this picture. What people put themselves through to attain beauty.

Excellent. Reminds me of Pris from Bladerunner. The widescreen framing emphasizes the film feeling.

You're right! I love that movie and have both versions. Funny that one doesn't hear about it much today. Chinatown still gets a lot of talk tho.

Great shot ... only thing that distracts for me is the fingernail treatment ... J

She looks stoned. Drugged out somehow. She could be putting on that lip stuff so she'd look good for her mug shot. She looks as if, when she brought down the lip pencil she staggered. While viewing the pic I keep wondering how pretty she actually is.

It is a compelling photograph.

Great shot! But I would like it more without the lip liner streak across her face...it looks too deliberate, and it's distracting me because she's got the pencil back on her lip moving in the direction of that streak.

It just doesn't work for me:

Shot is too wide; too much black on one side with some kind of weird streaks.

There's a weird, black smudge behind her hair, that almost looks like a half attempt at photoshopping something there.

If you follow the line down her cheek, she should be pressing the lip pencil the other way, but she's pressing it toward the line on her cheek. Just another awkward aspect of this shot.

The position of her lip with the pressed pencil is very unflattering.

The crop is terrible, with a bit of her shoulder showing and a tiny part of her hand.

Sorry, but this is amiss on so many levels.

It's good but she looks more like she stabbing herself in the lip which is distracting. She should have applied less preassure (unless that's the look you wanted!)

So you think this picture is supposed to be flattering?

There's a right way to get emotional portraits like this. The awkward positioning of the pencil against her lips in this shot is not one of them. It's awkward, unflattering, etc. Now that I look at it again, her left eye is awkwardly closed a lot more than the right. Awkward lip positions and a lazy eye look = unflattering.

I love it. Contrary to some other opinions, I love the candid nature of the shot, love the negative space and love the panoramic framing.
