Doomerflotchy...
Lens: SMC Pentax M 50mm f1.4 Camera: K-x ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/90s Aperture: F2

Another shot of my little girl while at a friends house. She's playing with one of those little hand held, battery operated fans. That didn't sound good as a title for this post, so I just called it Doomerflotchy.

I enjoy shooting in low-light without flash, so I pulled out my trusty SMC Pentax M 50mm f1.4 set at f2 to get a little more depth of field to get more of her in focus. I'd like to know what you folks think about the shot, and what you think could have been done to make it better.

Thanks!

Lovely shot. Just for kicks, have a look at cropping out the fan with a straight bottom crop. You could switch it to 4x5 from 4x6 format. I see no problem with leaving in a bit of mystery about what she is so absorbed with.

Right on! I like it a lot better. It makes me wonder what is so interesting.

The main thing you could have done better here was change your position. Make sure you move to where something like that yellow thing in the background doesn't creep into the shot. Also, try to go a little lower, or wait for a different pose to get more of her eyes in the shot.
