Light, Color, Gesture, take 1. Not sure if I am getting the concept or not. Thoughts?

Both great but love the first one. (And love the 77mm)

I like #1. In the 2nd one the people seem to be a bit lost against the dark/similar-coloured background behind them.

Was hoping for some idea on whether I am getting the "light, color, gesture" concept right, particuarly on #1.

they're staying, not moving

the pictures are great but the subject are not moving. the other angle of view is needed)))
