SS Titanic Jr.
Camera: Optio W20 Photo Location: Saddlebag Lake, CA ISO: 80 Shutter Speed: 1/150s Aperture: F6.7

The lake was drained pretty low so they could work on the dam. Looking at the size of the pine tree behind the boat, it has been down a while! This was taken with my fishing camera, the waterproof Optio W20. Comments and critique welcomed.

Nice job with the B&W, and a good piece of storytelling; amusing that the only water in the scene is inside the boat.

Love it. I might have perhaps taken a wider shot as well, as you may have.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

baro-nite - I used Nik's Siver Efex Pro 2. I'm not good with the software yet, but it does a really good job.

SpecialK - I did not take a wider shot, but that is good feedback.

I'm amazed the quality given the camera was my "old" Optio-W20. Kind of puts all of the "new is better" thinking in perspective.

Another version in color...

I'm not sure which version I prefer. I like the mood of the B&W but I also like the paint highlights inside the boat.

Both are good, but I prefer the color version. Great story, too!

I usually prefer color but with the shadows/lighting as-is I prefer the B&W version. In B&W the boat is clearly the center of attention. In color I find the bare ground at upper-left distracting. I'm not a photo critic but the B&W feels like it's a better composition even though the framing is identical.
